International achievements
In 1977, we welcomed our first 48 students, from Early Childhood through Grade 4, becoming the first bilingual school in Santo Domingo.
From the very beginning, our forward-thinking educational vision, commitment to academic excellence, and focus on developing the whole child set us apart.
Between 1982 and 2001, we experienced remarkable growth, welcoming more than 1,400 students and strengthening our position as one of the country’s leading educational institutions.
This growth brought expanded facilities, new laboratories, specialized learning spaces, and the early integration of technology into the classroom, creating even more opportunities for our students to thrive.
In 2003, we opened our Campus Santiago, marking an exciting new chapter in the history of New Horizons School.
Building on more than two decades of experience in Santo Domingo, we brought our bilingual, international educational model to the Heart City. From the outset, the campus has remained committed to innovation, meaningful learning, and the academic and personal growth of every student.
Beginning in 2008, New Horizons School expanded its educational offering to welcome children from as early as 9 months old, while further strengthening its academic model.
We modernized our facilities and introduced a curriculum aligned with international standards and essential 21st-century skills, equipping students with the knowledge, confidence, and adaptability to flourish in a global society.
Between 2016 and 2019, our students earned significant international recognition, particularly for their achievements in academic debate.
We also introduced innovative, student-led communication initiatives, giving learners meaningful opportunities to strengthen their critical thinking, communication, and leadership skills.
This was a transformative milestone for New Horizons School as it became a proud member of International Schools Partnership - ISP.
Becoming an ISP school was New Horizons School gateway to a dynamic global network of world-class schools. It provided access to unparalleled opportunities for our students to collaborate across continents, engage in innovative learning projects, and develop the skills to thrive as true global citizens. The world just became our classroom.
In 2025, our debate team ranked 64th among more than 3,000 teams worldwide and earned a place in the National Speech & Debate Association’s prestigious 400 Club.
That same year, our students claimed first place at the CODED World Championship in Tokyo, competing against participants from more than 40 countries. These exceptional achievements reflect the confidence, skills, and global perspective we nurture throughout each student’s learning journey.
